How we treat the numbers
Any study or valuation rests on assumptions, and the difference between professional work and the rest is not the precision of the final figure but the clarity of the assumptions and whether they can be tested. We therefore commit to the following:
- Stating every assumption and its source expressly, and never presenting an estimate as a fact.
- Sensitivity analysis — what happens to the result if the most significant assumption moves up or down.
- Presenting results as ranges rather than a single figure, because a single figure implies a certainty that does not exist.
- Separating what is established from the books from what rests on estimate.
- Dropping any figure for which no reliable source exists rather than estimating it, and stating that the data is insufficient.
This approach can produce a less emphatic report than some expect — but it is the report that holds up when a real decision is taken on it.
When you need us
- You are buying a business or joining as a partner and want to know what you are actually acquiring.
- You need a share valued on a partner’s exit or an inheritance division.
- Accumulated losses are approaching half of capital and the alternatives need assessing before they go to the partners.
- A bank requires a supported financial file for a facility application.
- Owners want an independent explanation of declining results.
- You want to test a new project’s feasibility before committing capital.
What you receive
- A written report with stated assumptions and sensitivity analysis.
- An editable financial model that stays with the business.
- An executive summary of the alternatives and the effect of each.
Scope of the service
These are financial and accounting advisory services for businesses. They do not include investment recommendations on securities or portfolio management, which are activities with their own regulatory framework under the Capital Market Authority.

Frequently asked questions
Will you give a single final figure for the value of a business?
We give a range built on more than one valuation approach, explaining why the results differ between them. A bare single figure conceals more than it reveals.
What is the difference between a feasibility study and due diligence?
A feasibility study looks at a future project that has not started. Due diligence looks at an existing business and verifies what its books actually contain by way of liabilities, assets and exposures.
